From bolstering health through group classes and personal training to reaching out to our young men and women through Project Elevate, Brick City Strength is pushing health as a top priority.
With over 10 years of personal training and group training experience, and an array of different areas of training and education, Brick City Strength brings expertise and solid, caring personal interactions to each and every client that walks through the door. BCS is not just a training facility, but a community-oriented space where education of the mind, body and spirit is held as the ultimate goal.
Our Coaches
Jerry Andrews
Owner/Coach
Having grown up in Newark, it’s only right that he and his wife, Coach Veronica, give back to the city that helped raise him. After graduating from Saint Benedict’s, he continued his education at Rutgers, and soon thereafter began changing lives through fitness. Most recently, Coach Jerry has obtained a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Psychology. At Brick City Strength, he brings this vantage point and his almost two decades of fitness experience to train the Newark community in many aspects of wellness. His main objective is to shine a light into the dark areas of anyone’s life.
Veronica Andrews
Owner/Coach
Coach Veronica began her fitness and nutrition endeavors after graduating with a Master’s in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University. Over the past 15+ years, she has amassed certifications in fitness, movement therapy and nutrition to bring a well-rounded understating of wellness to Brick City Strength.
OUR FACILITY
We are conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Newark, just steps away from the Prudential Arena. We utilize outdoor space around the Teachers Village area and nearby areas for those workouts that take you outside or on a long run.
Our community unites individuals from all backgrounds and fitness levels. We offer an introductory session for newcomers, group classes, and personal training that use variable training programs to get the most out of your time with us. In each of our classes, movements and weights are scalable based upon ability.
You will realize there aren’t rows of treadmills, ellipticals, or awkward adjustable machines but rather we show you how to utilize your own body as the machine we are blessed with at birth! Our gym is filled with barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, as well as some rowers and air bikes. We have pull-up bars, stacked wooden boxes, and adequate space to use these tools to become better every day.
Our open space is indicative of a clean slate – you always have the opportunity to write your own future.
